Eleventh Transmission Fiction Contest

Calgary's arts, culture, media, and activism magazine is having its First Annual Fiction Contest!

The contest is open to national and international authors, but we hope that the bulk of entries will come from the Calgary writing community.

Stories will be assessed based on quality of writing as well as originality. There is no required theme or topic and we eagerly anticipate a wide variety of submissions. Submissions will be blind reviewed by our illustrious panel of judges, comprising Vivian Hansen, Chris Ewart, Mark Hopkins, and Karina Ramdath.

Stories should be:
-Previously unpublished.
-Not longer than 3000 words.
-Not currently submitted elsewhere.

-First Place: $200, $20 Pages Gift Certificate, and a Pages in bag.
-Second Place: $75 and a Pages bag.
-Third Place: $50 and a Pages bag.
-Fourth Place: Sportswriter (paperback, new), by Richard Ford

Thanks to Pages in Kensington and McNally Robinson for offering prizes.
